YEAR-AROUND EVENTS
Parties to Go are parent- and family-hosted events that raise money for Withers while building community among families. Hosts choose a theme — for parents, families, kids, or a specific grade — and coordinate a date, then guest spots are sold as auction items at the Fall and Spring Auctions, with all proceeds going directly to Withers. Hosts cover the costs of their event (such as food, drinks, or venue), and past parties have ranged from casual get-togethers like Oktoberfest and Tacos and Tequila to kid-focused events like Cookie Decorating and Game Truck parties.
Little Bookworms is a bilingual story time held periodically in the Withers library for children who aren't yet school-age, including younger siblings of Withers students. Each session includes a story, a craft, and a snack, offered in both English and Spanish.
FALL EVENTS
The BooHoo Breakfast is a casual gathering held for Pre-K and Kindergarten families immediately following drop-off on the first day of school. It gives parents and caregivers a moment to share a few tissues (and maybe a few laughs) as they mark the milestone, while connecting with other families starting this new chapter alongside them. The morning typically includes coffee, light bites, and good company — a way to make the first day feel a little easier.
The Fall Party is an annual evening fundraiser held each September to support Withers Elementary. Hosted off-campus at a local venue, it brings together families and staff for a night out with food, drinks, and community — a chance for parents to meet new families and staff, sign up for Parties-to-Go, and help raise funds for the school.
Prowl is a lap-based fun run held during the school day each fall to raise money for Withers. Parents set up a fundraising page for each student, which is shared with family, friends, and neighbors who sponsor either per lap or with a flat donation. On the day of the race, students run as many laps as they can within a set time, laps are recorded and uploaded to their fundraising page, and sponsors are charged automatically based on their pledge. The event also includes prizes for top fundraisers and lap counts, weekly donut drawings leading up to the race, and a Glow Party for students who reach a fundraising milestone.
Art Night is an annual evening event at Withers held each winter, where students and families come together to explore art and crafts, with a fun theme that changes each year. Kids are encouraged to dress festive and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities and creative stations throughout the school.
SPRING EVENTS
Paw Paw Palooza is a community carnival held each spring at Withers, bringing together families, students, and staff for an evening of fun. The event features free entry along with activities like a cake-walk, photo booth, popcorn, games, and lotería, plus additional attractions — such as pizza, popsicles, and carnival rides — available using low-cost tickets. Welcome bags with snacks, stickers, tattoos, and bonus tickets are typically given out to early arrivals.
The Withers Auction is the school's largest annual fundraiser, with a different theme each year. The evening includes dinner, an open bar, and live music, along with several ways for the community to participate: a Silent Auction featuring lower-value items open to online bidding by anyone; a Big Board Auction with mid-range items like kids' artwork, vacation homes, and luxury goods, open to in-person or virtual ticket bidders; and a Live Auction, held in person only, featuring big-ticket items such as vacation homes, front-of-carpool spots, and luxury trips. Parties to Go registration also opens during the auction, giving families the chance to sign up to host their own event for the coming year.
The Withers Variety Show is an annual talent showcase where Withers students take the stage to share their talents — dancing, singing, acting, martial arts, playing instruments, gymnastics, magic, comedy, and more. It's free of charge and open to the whole community, with rehearsals held in the weeks leading up to the show and a mandatory dress rehearsal beforehand. Snacks are typically available for purchase before and during the show, and the front row is reserved for families watching their child perform.
Field Day is an annual outdoor event held each spring where students participate in athletic activities and games by grade level.
